OnePlus has recently launched its budget smartphone, OnePlus Nord. while OnePlus Nord is currently being sold exclusively to Europe and India, the latest information that has come on courtesy of OnePlus CEO Carl Pei during his interview at wired has revealed the OnePlus' plans for the USA.
According to CEO Carl Pei speaking to Wired, unlike current Nord smartphone selling exclusive to Europe and India, the next OnePlus Nord smartphone will make its way to North America. He also suggests the possible launch date for the upcoming Nord smartphone, later this year, somewhere in last quarter.
The upcoming Nord smartphone to be available in the USA is rumored to come powered by a recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 Chipset paired with at least 8GB of RAM. Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 Chipset is currently the cheapest 5G offering from Qualcomm inventory, followed by Snapdragon 765G SoC. The specifications suggest an even lighter price tag to come attached with the upcoming anonymous Nord smartphone.
According to an XDA geek, while digging deeper into new OnePlus Oxygen OS, he has found the traces of some upcoming Nord smartphone codenamed - Billie. A recently leaked Antutu benchmarks listing had also revealed same specification, check it out here. According to the Antutu, the smartphones was tested along with the recently launched OnePlus Nord smartphone, therefore I'll bet on a launch sooner than later.
There isn't any rumor or any official information about the price of OnePlus Billie yet, but guessing with its chipset - Snapdragon 690, the smartphone is likely to carry a lower price tag compared to current OnePlus Nord smartphone and $300 will be a good guess to start.
