Today is the day indeed. After a lot of leaks and hangfire OnePlus has finally unveiled the most awaited mid-range smartphone of the year OnePlus Nord 5G.
OnePlus Nord 5G comes powered via Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G Chipset paired with at least 8GB of RAM in its base variant. Though, there will be an Amazon India exclusive OnePlus Nord variant to come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. This Amazon India exclusive OnePlus Nord model will carry a price tag of INR 25,000 ($335). The standard OnePlus variant will cost more, but the price in India will be toned down, I will come to it in a moment.
Upfront, OnePlus Nord 5G comes with a 6.44 inches AMOLED Display featuring dual punch hole located at the top left corner of the screen sporting a 32MP selfie shooter paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens that comes with a 105 deg field of vision.
For authentication, the OnePlus Nord 5G has an in-display optical fingerprint scanner.
Around the back, there is a quad-camera setup to be seen composed of a 48MP primary camera, the same module as seen on recently launched OnePlus 8. The primary camera comes paired with a tri camera setup escalating an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor.
OnePlus Nord 5G packs a 4115mAh battery unit that comes bundled with a Warp Charge 30T. The company claims that the charger can push 0 to 70% of the battery in mare 30 minutes. unfortunately, Nord has no 3.5 jack, but you can use its USB port to connect your wired earphone.
OnePlus Nord 5G does not feature an official IP rating, even though it was rumored to come with one. The company still claimed during the launch event that a team of 300 engineers tested OnePlus Nord against vigorous conditions including drops, and artificial sweat.
OnePlus Nord will cost 400 Euro in Europe and 380 Pounds in the UK for the base variant offering 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The top of the line Nord variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage will cost 500 euro in Europe and 470 pounds in the United Kingdom.
In addition to the Amazon India exclusive variant having 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, The standard OnePlus Nord with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage will cost INR 28,000 in India ( 330 euro ), while the top of the line OnePlus Nord 5G will cost INR 30,000 (500 euro).
Ther isn't any information about the availability of the OnePlus Nord yet, but Asia and Europe will be the first to get the smartphone. Interestingly, No Plans are announced for North America during the launch event.
