Sundar Pichai, CEO of the legendary American company Google Inc, has said that the company is working on an affordable smartphone with Indian partner Reliance Jio.
According to Pichai, the plan has been in the works for some time. Last year Google invested Rs 33,737 crore to buy a 7% stake in Jio Platforms. The company had also agreed with Jio to make smartphones in the lowest price category.
In a virtual medium conversation with journalists from the Asia Pacific region, Pichai said that we are focused on the planning of affordable smartphones. The company is working closely with Jio on this plan. However, he did not reveal anything about its price and the possible launch date. It is noteworthy that Google has promised 75 thousand crore investment over seven years to help Indian adopt digital technology.
The company has assured its users that they will get cheaper data in this affordable phone. Sundar Pichai said that the importance of technology in people's lives has increased because of the corona pandemic. Now, people are taking advantage of all the facilities like work from home, online services through technology.
