OnePlus has successfully launched its OnePlus 8 series earlier this month through an online event. While the OnePlus 8 series is already up for the pre-orders, there was no information about the OnePlus mid-ranger, which was earlier suggested to be coming along-side the OnePlus 8 Series. But today more has come to know about it.
The latest leak that has come on courtesy of folks at Truetech as an alleged hands-on image of upcoming OnePlus Z suggests that the upcoming OnePlus device will debut with a punch-hole display, which unlike OnePlus 8 series will come with a notch placed at the center of the screen.
The screen will be an AMOLED unit since the picture confirms the presence of an in-display sensor, which isn't ready to be served over the LCD plate yet. The screen will most likely feature the same 90Hz 1080p refresh rate display as seen recently on the vanilla OnePlus 8 model.
Meanwhile it has already been confirmed that OnePlus Z will pack a Mediatek dimensity 1000L Chipset that supports 5G connectivity, and it will come with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS3.0 internal storage in its base variant. Around the back, there will be a triple camera setup featuring same sensors as seen on recently launched OnePlus 8.
The OnePlus Z is long rumored to be launch in July, which is most likely When we will see this device in daylight. Though, I strongly believe the final launch will depend on COVID-19 as most of the online channels are closed in affected countries.
There is no official information about the price of OnePlus Z, but the device is expected to carry a price tag of approx INR30,000 ($400). One thing to be sure at this point is that OnePlus Z will compete in the mid-range segment with its budget-friendly Mediatek 1000L offering.
