Swinging down the rumors of delay counting due to ongoing COVID 19 epidemic across the world, today, Apple has unveiled its most awaited budget iPhone - iPhone SE2 to the world in a press event.
Despite what its name suggests, iPhone SE2 doesn't look like its predecessor in anyways. iPhone SE2 is moreover a rebranded iPhone 8 rather being a true successor to original iPhone SE, at least as far as its looks are concerned. Overall you can call iPhone SE2 a rebranded iPhone 8 with a better camera and latest chipset, and that's it.
This section won't make any sense to those who already own an iPhone 8 or an iPhone 8 plus as iPhone SE2 is an exact replica of these devices. For those who are new, iPhone SE2 comes in a large chunky body with a considerable side and massive top and bottom bezels that by no means looks 2020.
For authentication, iPhone SE2 has a front located fingerprint sensor covered with sapphire glass, which also doubles as Touch ID. The back and front both are made out of glass, and iPhone SE2 does support wireless charging and packs in an IP67 rating for added water and dust protection.
As told before, iPhone SE2 packs the same 4.7-inch 720p Retina display with True Tone colors seen earlier on iPhone 8, and while it doesn't sound too flashy, it does support Dolby Vision and HDR playback.
The leaping upgrade from iPhone SE to iPhone SE2, or let's say the major difference between an iPhone 8 and an iPhone SE2 is what's clocking inside the hood. The iPhone SE2 comes with the A13 Bionic SoC, just like iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone Pro max, which is the latest SoC from Apple yet.
iPhone SE2 has the same 12MP F/1.8 primary camera setup as iPhone 8, but it offers an improved camera experience thanks to the raw power that Apple's A13 Bionic offers. The single-camera features a new Smart HDR photography possible due to A13 SoC, and also comes with a new software named - monocular depth sensing, which helps in better portrait shots by detecting depth in vision and recognizing faces.
For selfies, there is a 7MP F/1.8 front-facing selfie cam, which also offers some software-induced depth sensing for portrait shots
iPhone SE is available in 3 color options - black, white, Red, and packs a 1821mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging, but as expected from Apple, iPhone SE2 comes bundles with just a 5W Charger out of the box, which is super slow by 2020's standard.
iPhone SE2 will be available for pre-orders in the US, starting tomorrow, and shipment will start on April 24 onwards. iPhone SE2 is priced at $399 for its 64GB variant in the USA, which roughly translates to INR31,000. But the official prices for iPhone SE2 in India have already been revealed, and an iPhone SE2 will cost you INR42,500 for its base variant, that seems too much for a country dominated by Chinese OEM'S like OnePlus, Realme, Asus, and Xiaomi which offers excellent value for money smartphones for each and every segment.
