WhatsApp is constantly updating its features. Now WhatsApp has brought a 'View Once' feature for beta users. The specialty of this feature is that as soon as the receiver opens the photos/videos once, they will disappear after being viewed from the chat. This feature works similar to Instagram's Expiring Media. Earlier, WhatsApp had also released the 'Disappearing Messages' feature, in which messages are automatically deleted after a stipulated time. The 'View Once' feature is currently available for Android WhatsApp beta users.

How does this feature work?

WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot regarding the View Once feature for WhatsApp. WhatsApp users can also send disappearing photos/videos from the gallery. Once the photos/video are selected, you will see an icon like a clock in the caption area. You have to tap on this icon. This way, disappearing photos/videos can be shared with friends and family members. Let us tell you that this feature works with videos, photos, and GIFs. If you are not getting View Once while sharing media with someone, it means you have not got this feature. This feature will be available in the 2.21.14.3 Android version of WhatsApp.

Know these things too!

If you share the disappearing photos/videos in a group, you will see who and when is opening the pictures in the group, even if you have disabled read receipts. However, receivers can save photos/videos using screenshots or screen recording as WhatsApp will not notify you. There is no such feature as screenshot detection right now. You can also share photos and videos in a group using the View Once button. Also, by going to the message info section, you can see who has opened the photo and video. Block contacts in groups can also open those photos and videos. According to WABetaInfo, block contacts can't call or message you, but they can interact with you in groups. This feature will still work if you send a picture or video to a user using the View Once button, but they haven't enabled the feature yet. This feature is expected to be released soon for all WhatsApp users.
