FaceTime is a great way to video call between iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It has been part of the Apple ecosystem for years. With iOS 15, Apple's FaceTime can now be used by Android users as well. Let us tell you that now FaceTime users can also video call their family and friends on Android phone, Windows computer, or browser. It means you no longer need an iPhone to connect with your friends on FaceTime. Let's know step by step how you can use FaceTime on Android to join a video call.

How to use FaceTime on Android?

If you are an Android user, you can join and participate in a video call on FaceTime. However, you can't initiate FaceTime calls on all Androids. Joining the call requires an invite link from a friend or family member with an iOS 15, iPad 15, or Mac device. You can then use the link to join the video call directly through your browser, just like Zoom.

How to make FaceTime call link on iPhone?

  • Open FaceTime on iPhone and iPad. You can also search it from the app library. Here you have to click on the Create Link.
  • It will automatically open the sharing sheet. Here, under the FaceTime Link, tap on Add Name. Select the person (Android phone user) to invite to the FaceTime call from the share sheet. You can share this FaceTime call link through any messaging platform. Whether, it's the traditional SMS or instant messaging app like WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.

How to join FaceTime Calls on Android?

  • On an Android device, you'll get the link in the format 'facetime.apple.com'
  • Open FaceTime Call link in Chrome browser. Once the link is open, enter your name and type on Continue. You don't need to sign in or do anything here. Only you have to permit to use the camera and microphone.
  • Now click on the Join button on the top right. You will see a message at the bottom of the screen, "Waiting to be let in..." until the iPhone user accepts you into the meeting.
  • The iPhone user who created the link will be prompted to accept you in the meeting. Just ask them to tap the green check button on the popup. Once you've done that, you'll be able to join FaceTime calls and video chats from your Android phone.

You also get a few other onscreen controls, including options to go full screen, mute, disable video, and switch cameras. Additionally, you can enable grid layout or switch between available cameras and audio sources by tapping on the 3-dot menu. This feature only works on phones running iOS 15 and currently available through the Public Beta channel.
