Facebook is among the most popular social platforms in the world, and so is its messenger. Facebook Messenger is among the top 10 downloaded apps in the play store, with its leading total count of 71M ( 7 crores and 10 lakh ). But unfortunately, there wasn't any Facebook messenger available for the desktop users until today.

Facebook has officially launched the desktop version of its famous messenger worldwide and will be available to be download from both Microsoft Store and Mac App Store.

Features

The latesT messenger from Facebook weighs 100MB in size and comes with all those features that you see in its android counterpart. Facebook Messenger for Desktop has Group video call, Gif support along with emojis, and is capable of pushing desktop notifications. Messenger also features chat sync across the device to keep in sync with all other devices, and the best of all, it comes with an inbuilt Dark Mode.

Along with these features, Facebook has also added automated information delivering service dedicated to cover trustful information about the Corona epidemic from trusted organizations like WHO, CDC, and deliver it to the users to avoid getting confused with all misleading information about COVID 19 spreading through web. It will also deliver CORONA exact figures right into the messenger.

Why its being launched?

Stan Chudnovsky Facebook Messenger VP said, “over the past month, we saw more than a 100% increase in people using their desktop browser for audio and video calling on Messenger. Now with apps for macOS and Windows, the best of Messenger is coming to desktop, including unlimited, and free group video calls.”
