Today OnePlus has officially revealed its 5G enabled OnePlus 8 series in India. OnePlus 8 series will be available to be purchase from India's largest online retailer - Amazon, by the end of the ongoing nation-wide lockdown.
While there is no official announcement about pricing, the vanilla version of OnePlus series, aka OnePlus 8, will start at approx INR50,000 for its base variant, having an 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB internal storage and will go all up to INR60,000 for its top of the line version with 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB of internal storage.
OnePlus 8 boasts a 6.55 inches 2400x1080 pixel 90Hz SUPER AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 while Clocking inside the hood is the latest beast from the Qualcomm factory - Snapdragon 865.
For authentication, OnePlus 8 uses an in-display fingerprint reader.
For the camera, OnePlus 8 carry a 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie camera on the front, and a tri-camera setup on the back consisting of a primary 48MP F/1.75 OIS EIS enabled Sony IMX586 sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP lens with dual led flash.
OnePlus 8 is equipped with a 4300mAh battery unit inside and comes with a 30W Warp charger out of the box. Even though it comes with a glass back like OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8 neither supports wireless charging nor is there any confirmation of any IP rating.
The expected price of the OnePlus 8 Pro is INR60,000 for 8GB/128GB variant which will go all up to INR70,000 for 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB internal storage variant.
OnePlus 8 Pro packs the same Snapdragon chipset as its vanilla model but feature an updated 6.78" 3168x1440 pixel quad HD 120Hz Super AMOLED display panel with an aspect ratio of 19.8:9 counting to a pixel density of 513ppi.
For biometric authentication, OnePlus uses the same in-display fingerprint reader as present in its vanilla model.
OnePlus has a quad-camera setup with primary 48MP Sony IMX689 (F/1.78, 1.12μm pixel size, OIS, EIS) sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX586 u (F/2.2, 120-degree FOV) ultrawide lens, an 8MP telephoto (F/2.4, 3x optical, OIS) sensor, and a 5MP color filter (F/2.4) with PDAF, Laser AF, and dual-LED flash.
For the selfie shootout, OnePlus Pro has the same 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor-enabled with EIS.
OnePlus 8 Pro has a bigger 4510mAh unit battery inside that supports wireless charging along with traditional 30W fast Warp charging, and also has a reverse charging technology for reverse charging other smartphone or accessories.
Some features are reserved for the pro model only to justify its high price point. To start with, OnePlus 8 Pro comes with wireless charging support via OnePlus new Warp wireless 30 fast chargers, capable of poking a peak output of 30W. IP68 water and dust resistance is another cool and important feature reserved for the Pro model.
